Hey everyone,
Have been lurking, and getting lots of good info for my Arch Davis Sand Dollar, which is slowly taking shape in my living room.
Anyway, saw this on the Victoria (BC) Craigslist and thought some of you might like to see this boat. Check out the paintjob.....

Hope the owner does not mind me posting this to this forum....

Yeah, "the price seems a little steep" was my first impression too, guess I just wanted to post it so you all could have a look too......
Seems like whenever anything comes up around here (Vancouver Island/Puget Sound) for sale that has a wood hull, and is anything short of being firewood the price is "elevated".
over priced by about $7500 I would guess.

Boy, that pink interior looks familiar, have we seen this boat before--a coupla years back maybe? If not, it's hard to believe there's two people on the planet that could go with that color--yikes!
If you havn't gone to this boat's site, you have to.
This is amazing; the man was on a mission; I suspect the money is in the tent/cover.

check out the keel.
I have seen a freind of mine build boats in this "folksy?" manner; I confess to some degree of admiration for his engenuity and determination, this IS a labour of love, though limited skill. And having said that, my own skills pale in comparison to what I have seen on this forum in the last 5 years.
Honestly, who are we to critisize? Think about how much fun he had, and his pride; and isn't that why we are all here?
ps
As for the pink; my own boat has "raspberry" trim ;-)
whenever you see a "dead" classic wooden boat it usually is baby blue or some weird pastel color. Those colors cause rot.

How? Seriously? I have a boat that's "not white". It never occured to me the colours could encourage rot.
It probably has nothing to do with it. But I have noticed a correlation.

Yep, scientific fact.
Same effect applies to mechanical things.
