Aaargh! We need a few crew for the first two stops of events this year. Our college age crew doesn't come aboard 'till Norfolk, so we need a couple of scallywags for Hampton and Portsmouth; both piratical events with cannons, etc... Late May for a week arrr two....

Well, you can bring any size you can carry; but there be four or five big bores already in gunports......

I could use some rape and pillage, but late May is out of the question, with striper season and gardening in full swing.

I can't believe that no one is willing to crew. What's with everyone.. Not even a nibble really.

...with striper season and gardening in full swing.

I didn't know that stripers had a season, they can be found at our local "ballet"/"dancing bear" establishments year round.

.....a dram of black powder and a 16 gauge wad seems to work well...and for projectiles a soft piece of muslin around a marble works gud.....but they is finnicky critters being flintlocks......:D

Is that Portsmouth RI and "The" Hamptons, or Portsmouth in Hampton Roads? Man all these places sound the bloody same dont they? Its like they were all named for or by a single dude.

OK...... As long as we're not talking the east coast of England..... (Although, it'd prolly be cheaper for me to get there than Virginia at this point....)

Yep, east coast of the US...Portsmouth is around the 26 of May, and around 3 or 4 days up the ICW to get there. The Blackbeard Festival is a week later, followed by the 'Big Time' once again in Norfolk

Gee.. don't know if I would want to shoot off a canon in Norfolk. Last time I went through there, there were these little ( relatively little ) boats running around with 50 cal. in the bow and men dressed up in fatigues etc.... No.. I would notr want them to get excited.

We've generally came in blasting, and for the Tallship events, them little boats cover our arses as event security, chasing off anyone trying to get close. San Diego was different in '05, as the little red guys all circled us (three sides, anyway!).....I think we fire a salute each evening in Norfolk when we strike our ensigns......

Ya gotta have a plan...ya come in with guns blazin'.....rapid fire.....double the reload crews......then when the heathens surround ya, ya give up.....negotiate, and then ask the U.S. giv'ment fer recconstruction aid and assistance, munny for water purification plants, and economic development.........works every time....:D and they will even help ya build a new warship with all the trimmings for your new self defense force....

Aye!..We do!..That would be 'Heather', period dressed and painted(altho' she's in need of paint again) by someone at the Canadian War Museum. I finally found out who sho was, tho'..seems the carver had a hottie at the time, not a wife, just a...well, anyway her name was Heather, and I'm sure that got him some mileage, eh?We've moved her up a bit to accomodate the bobstay repair in NYC last fall..

Well I'd do it Gary, and glad of the chance, but I'm on a Course at work then, and just won't be able to get away.

A shame, but I hope it all works out for you.
