Tell me I am not the only one who has ever thaught of using an ultrasonic cleaner with terps in it with paint brushes?

We all hate cleaning them, and it should work

Have you tried it w/ the old ladie's jewelry cleaner?

Yep, this works very well. :D

For those of you who haven't experienced the cleaning power of an ultrasonic, they are awesome.

However, if you want to avoid having to clean the paint off the inside of the ultrasonic tank, put the turps in a glass jar and imerse the jar in the ultrasonic tank which is full of water. The vibrations from the ultrasonic travel very well through the water and transfer through the glass jar with almost no loss.

I have used this technique to clean jewellery (as well as the brush) after rhodium plating for years. When jewellery is electroplated the areas which are to be left unplated (such as with two tone pieces) are painted to stop electrical contact between the solution and the metal surface.

I have also found that having the water very hot with lots of detergent in it makes the ultrasonic vibrate considerably better.

Cheers

Less than a drop of JOY in your best friends glass of water guarentee's hour of porcelain enjoyment for the victim.
