The Ancarrows were pretty special boats. If you haven't looked at the actual ebay listing you should to see how beautiful this boat could be. I agree that it could be a money maker in the right hands.

Apparently a serious collector liked it. $18,751. was the 52nd and final bid.I would love to watch the restoration and see photo's of it finished and flying across the water.

In the fifty's, even the venerable Chris-Craft was caught up in tail fins. They produced a boat with a single fin that was just about as yugly as this one. (Sorry, don't remember it's name & can't find a pic of it)
