Need Oakum

Good People-

I am badly in need of proper ship oakum as opposed to the plumbing oakum being offered by most vendors. As is often the case I need to locate about 15lbs of if ASAP.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

What's the difference -- is it that plumbing oakum is greased, and ships oakum should be tarred, or something else?

That's what I found too. The dang stuff is expensive since they closed the work houses.

Another recommendation might be to call up some old chandelries -- a lot of wonderful stuff is sitting around it old wooden bins in **somebody's** back room, the trick is to find it before the old guy who put it there 50 years ago dies or retires...
