I love it!

When I was a kid there was a barge mounted dredge clearing the channel near my parents boat. To move the barge, the operator would lower the boom and drop the clamshell bucket. He'd then raise the boom and leave the bucket as an anchor so the barge would move closer to the bucket. I could have watched all day.

Bent shaft, too! A diagonal draw would probably be the best steering stroke.
