The fuel valve for the sea gull is the same as some of the BSA and Triumph motorcycles. A vendor of classic motorcycle parts will have it.
You only need the cork seal, not the entire valve, to repair it.
They will weep a bit if allowed to dry out. Mine will swell up in a few days if stored with fuel.

That's what the shutoff was doing Canoe. Maybe if I had been patient. No, I did not throw the part away but it was leaking after a year without fuel.
IUmm.
And thanks for the input on the Triumph...for parts if I really need one.:D

Soory Jamie, just came on this. PM me and I'll give you the contact info for Cap'n Mike, but AFAIK he stopped importing all the Seagull stuff when they went TU. Probably still has a slug of the parts though.

This may be a stupid question, but does this valve need to be application specific, or do you need just a generic inline valve? I use one similar to the one in the link below on my truck, they have a tapered brass on brass sealing surface inside. (The one I used has a brass handle integral with the valve, not a steel lever like the one shown below. I think the one I used is for 3/8" line, not 5/16" as shown. Threaded on both ends, I added barb fittings with teflon tape on both ends then just clamped the lines in place.) Bought at the local hardware store for less than $10.

(The first one I used froze up after a year, the second one I bought, I pulled it apart and added a little grease before using it, works fine after a year. I also only rotate it in the same direction now (it rotates 360 degrees, on/off every 90), never back and forth, I think this may help too. I cleaned and greased the old valve back to new and put it in the glove box as a spare.
Not sure if this is marine quality, but it's cheap, it works, and it is very easy to service when it needs it.
