I want to puchased a 1x6 mahogony plank about 10 ft long. I live near Jacksonville FL. Is there any lumber dealer there that has the stuff.

There's a lumber yard in Jacksonville we got some materials from - McEllwin's [sp?]. I have their card at the warehouse.
Also, check with Chipmunk's Hardwoods. He was the source for most of our mahogany.

Like call them. I think the owner's name is Brad. Lefty can tell you he has an amazing collection of wood filling three warehouse bays. It's south of Daytona, but well worth the drive. Nice guy.

Wuzzat (not to be the Spelling Nazi er nuttin,) supposed to be MAHOGANY?
I ask because I was born not far from both Mahonoy Plane and Mahonoy City, Pa., so it naturally caught my attention. (Glad something did!)
(50¢ to the first one who tells me what the "plane" in the town name means...)
We now return you to your regular perusals....

Nice guy. Fairly crappy lumber when it came to Mahogany. As a matter of fact, if I'm not mistaken he said he wouldn't be likely to be getting any more after the stuff we bought from him Margo.... He was somewhat overpriced, and short stocked. IF I was forced to live in that frozen wasteland of a state, ( ;) ) I think I would open a specialty lumber yard. I have never, ever, in my entire life, ever , ever, had such a hard time finding the simplest of lumber. White pine? FORGET IT! Radiata or sappy SYP is all you get. Mahogany? FORGET IT!
Cedar? WHAT'S THAT?
It's ridiculous.
If you're serious about getting some Mahogany, order it over the internet. It's not worth your time to drive down to Aintree or wherever Margo and I ended up..... ( New Smyrna Beach, actually, now that I think on it.... We got a shark bite sammich there I think.... ;) )

Vince,
Speaking of spelling, isn't that supposed to be "Mahanoy" Plane.
