Tim.. several differences.... Not an insect.. but your point is well taken.
There are places where you can find Am. Chestnut but most that you find are less than 20' tall.

I have been notified that I'm in a quarantine area for the Emerald Ash Borer. The quarantine does not seem to stop the progress of the pest. There were a lot of wood lot owners that cut most of their ash trees before the infestation was in their area. There should be a large amount of ash on the market right now, but there will be a shortage in the future.

Ash yellows has been the predominant destroyer around here. The borers better hurry up.

Most of southern Michigan is now infested. Spreading much faster than predicted in spite of severe restrictions on wood transportation within the state.
