Paladin, another compass question

A mate is trying to find some oil for an old Sestril compass.
Is there a universal type of compass oil?
Any clues?

First......Make SURE the compass was made with oil in it, and not added by someone later. Jamies compass was made for alcohol, a Sestral.........Give me the model number and serial number if you can and I'll look up the info....
