I've not purchased any plans from Vaclav, but I did correspond with him some years back. He's a pretty nice guy it seemed. His kayak designs are nice and he has some great tips and tricks in the ways of cedar strip kayak building.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help. Check in with the forum at Guillemot kayaks. I'm sure there are several folks there who've done business with One Ocean.

Doug I have not dealt with the one you mentioned, though I did buy plans from this guy. Very helpful and very good plans with pictures. Patterns and such. Very pretty boats.

He's a prime player in the stip-built kayak market and has been so for a long time.
The big difference in the top-of-the-line pervayers is in their designs. They all have a reputation for good sevice.

Beautiful designs, some of the best plan sets and instructions I've seen and the finished boats are really sweet to paddle. I've made two of his designs (you can see them on the One Ocean site). Vaclav has responded very quickly to my requests for help and/or information. One Ocean also has an on-line builders manual which is very useful.

He is a great guy to deal with. I bought plans a number of years ago and built the Expedition Sport (that you will find linked in his resource section). He was very helpful during the build process. Always answered questions, either by phone or e-mail. You get a code to access an on-line builders guide when you purchase plans, which enhances his already great information.
