By any chance, do you have any pictures that illustrate the centerboard case position in the cabin? I can see on the study plans where it lies fore and aft, but I can't tell how much vertical intrusion there is and therefore how it might impact use of the settee and table space. Also, can the settee/table space be converted to a berth?
Thanks for any thoughts you're willing to share!

Yeah, this may be in a thread from a bit over a year ago showing Marmalade in her former owners' place. Probably in People Places.

Found it, thanks Ian!
So, basically, the centerboard swings up into a case that forms a combination ballister for the steps and partition between galley and cabin?

And general pain in the neck. That's it. Sloped down to take up as little space as possible.
Due to the swing, the pendent attachment shifts aft as the board is lowered. It's a great heavy iron plate with a wire pendent to a worm gear winch. You cannot mount this on the trunk itself and expect to level-wind on the drum.
Marmalade has a large turning block where the pendent comes out. This spot is straight above the pendent-board attachment when the board is up. The pendent goes horizontally out through the aft of the cabin trunk to the winch mounted just port of the companion.
This is a bit of an annoyance. I will one day run it up through the coach roof, relocating the pully there, and back to just port of the companion atop the roof.
I like having a bit of pendent exposed. I have a bungee arrangement to take up slack in the pendent when I run aground, thus diminishing the risk of fouling the pendent alongside the board deep in the trunk.
