Some kind of Meter boat?
or square meter boat
Looks like a 6-meter. There are no square-meters without a cabin (that is not a cabin).

Looks like the boat Chris Dickson brought back here last year. They say its a six metre .( not so sure)

It's not a square metre I am almost positive. It does have that bulky look of a 6mR. If I had to guess I'd say it's a 6mR but it would shock me if it was a mystery boat. I had thought that those guys knew the whereabouts of all of their class boats.

There was a whole article about these in WB a year or so back. Several sizes, same general shape. Sorta likeah classic - very modern underwater.

I've seen a photo of the sail up on the NZ one( similar or same) and I thought it had a symbol which meant a class( but not a six). Thats why I'm unsure of what it is. I have loose invite to go and see it ,but not sure when I can go.

Looks like a 6. The "cabin" is definitely an "add on". The double cockpit screams 6. Where is the boat now? The class may have "lost" it, especially since that cabin means it's probably not racing right now.
OTOH, can you give us an idea of its length? That will help.

As Ingo said!
6MR, because square-meters don't have that much freeboard.

"Q class"? That was/is the class for nonconformist Six Metres (eg with coachroof added for cruising) here.

Here, a Q is a Universal Rule boat. Bigger than a P, smaller than an R. More like an 8...

Question is.... does the coachroof knock down to reveal a 6" naval gun?

It's in a slip next to a Hinckley Pilot 35 so I'd say it's 38 feet long.

Six Metres are between 35 and 38ft LOA as a rule.

Sounds like a 6mR to me...

I still can't find the photo of the NZ boat that one reminds me of but I'm wondering if it's( the NZ one ) an IOD, International one design.Thats apparently a 6mR offshoot and has a different insignia, a C with a vertical strike through it.
An IOD looks very different, especially cockpit and of course cabin. And is it shorter. This is a 6-metre.
