On one of the other threads, there were some none-too-subtle reminders that I hadn't posted a status check in a while.
For those of you used to the snail-like pace of progress around here, I suggest you sit down and hang on to your hats!
I'll start with the little stuff so you can get used to the new pace...
Three out of the six pieces comprising the seat backs and forward bunks have been sanded and are ready to have something done. I haven't decided whether to paint or have regalvanized. I was going to have them powder coated, but that didn't work out and I'm over it at this stage. The goal now is to just do what's best and get the boat back together.

The final 40+ ceiling boards are varnished and in the "Done" stack.

Lefty and I were missing some 9" pieces of the forward ceiling. They were located, cleaned and varnished.

I have another 10 or 12 pieces of the forward bulkhead and area that makes up the head doorway sanded and in the varnish rotation...

With the exception of the head vanity (which I smartly stored out of the way so it wouldn't get damaged, but then out of sight /out of mind almost forgot to paint...), all of the head ceiling boards, cabinets, and trim pieces are painted and ready to be reinstalled.

While I had a wet paint brush in my hand, I painted the club foot and made great progress on the booms. The mizzen mast is on the right in the foreground and I'll finish sanding it (and the vanity for the head) today.

NOW FOR THE REAL NEWS
James has been back to work since May 9th. In that time frame (5 weeks!) he has:
Finished re-fastening the port side and is 1/3 of the way down the starboard side (or at least he was when he left yesterday. He's probably better than half way down that side by now. Heck, at the rate he works, he might even be done...). He also pulled the bottom four planks and corrected the fit at the turn of the bilge. Bungs are in and sanded. We still have to replace the sea cocks and refasten some of the butt blocks, but I smell bottom paint (or at least more red lead) in my future!!!!

We pulled the floor boards out and James leveled the floors so that the floor boards rest where they should.

Additional laminates have been added to the frames port and starboard and all frames are fair and ready for installation of the ceiling.

Under the cockpit the deck beam ends were damaged and didn't fit against the frames (for several reasons), so the frames were "super sized."

James also added 12 support posts under the cockpit. It's not "as built" and never will be, but I'm comfortable with the structural integrity at this point. It actually may be too stiff, but I'll deal with that if it is the case.

So how's that for progress????!!!!
I'm headed over there now and hope to work on sanding the mizzen mast, painting, varnishing, and getting the overhead ready for a final coat. We've got a regatta this weekend, but with things moving at this pace, I really want to keep up the momentum! It would also be nice to start getting things back in for good.
