Hello,

I own a small marina in Tampa, FL. I recently had to lien a boat due to overdue slip fees. A gentleman owned this boat and passed away but the heirs wouldn't do anything about this boat. I have no interest in restoring or owning this boat. My questions are: Is this hull fiberglass or glass over wood? How do I put a price on this boat and where should I advertise it?

Here's what I know: It is a 41' 1963 Hatteras cruiser. Twin perkins diesels with Isuzu genset. It looks ok inside but outside needs TLC. I am only looking to get what is owed slip wise and recoup the cost of getting the title. (around $12K) Any suggestions appreciated. Thank you.

If you have some pictures, put them up. If you can put up pictures of the interior, engine room, and exterior, showing any details (this means deficiencies) put them up too. If the boat is in good condition, it's worth much more than $12K, If not, then it's a question of just how bad she actually is. Probably solid glass, by the way.

An honest broker could be your new best friend. Ask around the marina to see who your clients trust. I'd think a local broker would be on top of the Hatteras market. One problem: She's over 40 years old. If she's gone to seed, she won't be a very attractive proposition, and the family probably knows that.

ABSOLUTELY 100% bulletproof fiberglass.

Does she look like this one for 75,000?

Oh yeah, If I was to go to the Dark Side, and get a plastic boat, one of those would be on a very short list of disireables!
