We had a great time at the annual "Loch Morgan" event, hosted by Morgan's companie at Stone Lagoon north of Trinidad, CA.

Here are just a few shots. One of the activities is a treasure hunt, completed by rowing and sailing all over the lagoon, following hints, compass headings, measuring things in fathoms, etc. Treasure consists of several chests buried with 'treasure' weeks earlier, which have to be dug up on the sandbar between the lagoon and ocean.

We did have a good time, even though the winds were flukey and varied between rail-down-howling-gusts and drifting-along-in-glassy-water -- within minutes of each other.

The black-hulled boat is sure to generate comment -- sort our our very own "Blind Faith", with a newbie builder who insists on learning it all the hard way. So far the laws of physics have NOT cooperated with his personal interpretation of them, so the boat can be rowed but not sail to windward.

Nice guy, just determined that he (with no experience) can do better than generations of sailors and boatbuilders...
