Greetings to the forum. I am shopping for opinions from the experienced boaters and boat builders. I am just in love with Andalusia, a Weston Farmer design. From his lyrical description of its origins to the beautifully graphic construction drawings this boat comes alive for me. I think I am more of a builder by nature than a designer. I will be sending off for the plans from D.N. Goodchild. Quite cheap as study plans go. As of now I don't know what method of construction is in the plans. I was thinking I would prefer strip plank over molds and bulkheads. But should I ever move toward building, a competent designer will be my first call. If nothing else I will be adding to my collection of study plans! Farmer designed this boat for northern waters but I would like to cruise it in the Islands. I know Weston Farmer is well thought of but what about this design?Opinions please.
