not too far into the future. As mentioned elsewhere, am looking at Portland ( first choice ) or Portsmouth as a destination. I like the idea of being close to Hamilton Marine...:D Have put in calls to boatyards in both cities along with the heads up for a day with a certified Propane tank installer, an electrician for a day, and a carpenter for one or two small projects left uncompleted. Am expecting to hear back from both ( all ) shortly.
So, anyway, anyone with any experience sailing schooners interested in sailing a leg down to say Conn.? Looking to gain a little training..:D:D Looking at a time no later than the 5th of Sept. as a starting date.
what is included: Food, wine, propeller beer or beer of one's choice, Rum, entertainment, conversation, and a bunk...

Ummmm! Of course Ian! There maybe a few others out there as well with some knowledge but.....
Damn the slings and arrows of malicious fate! Looks like I'll lose my chance to sail on the old girl. Damn!

Jamie, what's the rush, the experienced cruisers that hang around these parts during the summer don't head south until after hurricane season.

Michael.. Well, there will be a small trip to Chester by motor. Michelle has the sails so well packaged, I see no sense in taking them out of the bags for such a short trip!:D

When is this happening Jamie? We're going up to Brooklin on Thursday and coming back to Portland on Sunday. Small Reach Regatta time. :)

Have a great time at the small boat regatta. I was hoping to be there and cfatch up with you all.

Let's stay in touch. Marmalade wants to sail the Moffett Cup on the eighth but Portland is only a couple hours up the pike.

Well, damn!...The timing is waay off for me,but..if something goes haywire and you are still 'crew searching' after the first week in Nov.(when we are filming 'The Privateer'), I'll offer up myself and rather handy crew of at least two, which makes three!..We'll be headed into the Erie Canal the first week of Sept.
