Looks like wonderful progress is being made. I'm looking forward to pictures.

I'm just curious though, is something like this shipped via the ferry from Yarmouth or is it driven through New Brunswick?

Willmarsh, I'll step up and answer for Jamie...

The truck will go thru New Brunswick. The ferry will not have the overhead room to allow such a tall load onboard.

Jamie, We are so excited for you. I was looking at this thread and Claudia walked in and said, what a great looking boat, cool colors. Then I told her it was you and she got all jumpie...

Glad to see her in the water. Have a safe journey South, wish we could be there to help with the relaunch...

Masts pulled this AM.. If hauled this afternoon, will be placed on the truck. I am making the assumption that she will depart for Falmouth either tonight or tomorrow morning.
And yes, the lines will be changed. I got what I could find to replace the rotten ****p that were there. And I mean rotten!!!
Steven, I have a feeling that my cell phone won't work. I was not planning on being here in NS 3 months. Let's just say I owe a bill or two which will be paid when I get back to the US. An oversight..well...yes, I suppose. Had more things on my mind than Verizon.

Doug.. I was gonna have teeth around the hausepipes to warn off some idiot boaters to go with the red stripe. Heck, even as is, can see me coming and going...
Elf pictures perhaps. The new owner is waiting for the wire transfer to come through. He thinks because the money is coming to him, it is direct and immediate. Then again, he is an ****! I have always paid on time.
So be it.. luckily the haulers are not too upset... when she goes she goes. So, perhaps tomorrow night...

08-27-2007, 05:38 PM
Well now, wouldn't THAT rot yer socks!

Poor ol' Jamie has had nothing but delays, delays, delays here ever since he arrived. So the plan was, since the boat is s'posed to have her sticks pulled this morning, be hauled later today, and trucked tomorrow, that I'd get off work at four, beat it over to Chester Basin by five, and get a few photos of Airlie on the trailer (wanted to get pics of her underbody shape).

So today was the day that everybody was organized, efficient, and hard working. Got to the yard at 4:45 pm and there she was - GONE!

Damn.

G'luck Jamie! Hope all goes well on the transport and re-launch. Come back soon, y'hear?

Steven;
I stopped and had a yarn with Jamie at noon today. Arilie was loaded and ready to go,as you can see in jverl's pic.He didn't think they would ship today but may have gotten that straightened out as she is gone now.He did say that due to the width they will not haul at night so I would expect them to be in your area sometime tomorrow.I believe Jamie will need a stiff drink when he arrives but at least he will be close to some capable and willing hands.I watched Arilie as Jamie motored her around Indian Point a while back and suspect she will surprise a few when rigged up and under sail.
Jamie was heading for New Brunswick last I spoke with him at noon.Jverl may have more recent news.

What Reddog said. Jamie left here at 1300 heading for Calais. I spoke with the truckdriver at 1345 and he was leaving this afternoon, but he can not drive at night due to width limitations. The assumption is if he left on time that he will be in Falmouth tomorrow sometime. Note that Jamie does not know yet whether Airlie left or not, he was going to wait at the border for her. The saga continues...

Well, we tried to sail over to see her but got such a late start and the big yellow ball is the sky was falling fast... We got about 3/4 of the way there and then tacked back to the mooring. So after some food we drove up to look for Jamie with no success. :( We found Airlie. And Jamie's Subaru. But no Jamie or pup. The waitress in the bar hadn't seen him either, now that's odd. :D
