I'm building a Hess cutter {29' 9" } The plans call for 10 3/4" bolts Keel bolts [ aprox 5500 lbs Keel ] If I where to include the floor bolts[ through the wood keel and into the ballast] Would I gain any extra integrate in the garboard seem . Is this over kill? :)

Is this a L.Hess design that has was never built, never popular or has a history of leaky garboards or loosing the ballast keel? Seems like it must be one of those to prompt a second guessing/improving of his usually well regarded work. Alternatively you might have had a lot of experience with this sort of construction or have had some particular experiences that lead you to this change/addition?
