Hi All, I bought my boat from a guy who owned it for thrity years but never new what make or design it was. I have had many tell me that it is a Sparkman and Stephens but there is no name plate and there has never been a title, just registration. It was built in Norway in 1958. It came with two mains and the PO NEVER took the old main out of the sail bag. I did look at the origanal main yesterday and there is a big "H" before the number. Does anyone know what design or builder used "H" on the main back in 1958?

Do you have any basic dimensions? It looks along the lines of an International 500. Here's a link to a yawl version:

This is a helpful site that lists rig dimensions for both yawl and sloop versions. Through that you may be able to "forensically" identify your boat. She looks gorgeous -- do you have any other photos?

There was a sloop version of the International 500, finished bright, in the harbor about 6 miles east of where we kept our boat on Lake Ontario when I was growing up. I wish I knew what had happened to that one... I drooled and dreamed. Good Luck!

A couple of points;I doubt that the West system epoxy was part of the 1958 building process as it wasn't being marketed then.Secondly, the H on the sail may have been the National letter of a Dutch owned boat at that time.Nice looking boat btw.

Thanks John. The West system was applied during the 1974 refit here in Michigan. Cheers.
