I am building an Iain Oughtred design 18' Arctic Tern.
I am working on the planking and just found a small gap in a previously glued plywood lap.   Very narrow and 1/4-3/8" long. Now what do I do. My first thought is to inject epoxy into the gap (can't clamp it). Any ideas?
Lots of fun otherwise.

Shooting a runny epoxy goo into the seam will solve the problem. If the boat is to be varnished, i'd fuss a bit with microballoons or sanding dust to try to get the color close. If the gap is too narrow for the goo to flow into, you might open it out a bit with a small saw.
The WEST system syringes have a nice fine tip and do this job very well.

That's what I would do. Work thickened epoxy into the crack. After the boat is painted nobody but 8000 of your friends on The Forum will ever know.

Any idea why ? Did you miss a spot or a clamp? Or did the glue fail?
If you think you need a clamp, you could make a very special purpose, large wooden "C" clamp.

I've gotten gaps in glued lapstrake seams when i had a moment of inattention when planing a plank bevel. Easily fixed. No harm, no foul.

Try using a sheet rock screw, course thread, and a backer block of soft wood, screw into prescribed area w/ as many screws as it takes, the unscrew apply epoxy, and rescrew as above, let set up and then remove after 24 hours.fixed?

How about making one of those wood clamps like the vikings used really long u shaped piece of wood? The name escapes me. A thought anyways. Jess
