by my son-in-law's father. When he was here for the wedding he enjoyed feeding the gull by hand because he said it was 'polite about it', unlike the grabby, squawky gulls he was used to on the Jersey Shore.

I think it's pretty good!

Very nice -- you can almost hear the wings flapping as it takes off, good detail.

Any more of his work online?

I'll admit, with the title I expected something more like this...

I was thinking that he'd never get the paint to stick with all that ingrained oil and fuel....

Very nice painting. Is it He or She?

It is He (on the right), and he came in for a landing this morning, slid down the slushy deck and landed on his butt. Most undignified. He looked around as though to see if She saw him, but she wasn't around.

Nice rendition.

I would like to see a law drafted on toilet training all sea gulls. They have very bad habits in this regard and it is up to the goverment to stop them from poluting our waters.;)

BTW, does any one remember "Johanthan Livingston Seagull" ?

Second that. Great to 'meet' another Holling fan. Mine was 'Paddle to the Sea'. I bet I've given away a couple dozen copies of that over the years as gifts to friends' kids.... now I'm starting to hear that THOSE kids are passing them on.... still one of the best ever IMO.... VERY nice painting, to get back on topic.... I'm curious to know if it was done from a photograph or from life/observation/memory. I ask only because that wing position isn't one that most gulls can hold as a pose for very long....

RB, I sure wish you would learn how to scale your pictures down a bit.
