Many thanks for your kind message Gareth. I intend to spend my evening pleasantly by eating a takeaway curry, enjoying a glass of Laphroaig and watching the second part of last night's highly entertaining BBC2 reality TV programme Three Men in Another Boat.

The story here is that wooden boat nut Griff Rhys Jones takes two non-sailing comedian buddies Dara O'Brien and Rory McGrath on a voyage to Portsmouth to race against another boat.

The first episode last night was very funny and included quite a lot of footage about the Swale, our home sailing ground.

It really was some of the best telly I've seen for ages on any subject, and hopefully part two will be as good!
