Nothing like a two-month-old bambino to toss one's life into chaos. smile.gif
Despite that, got the tripods secured and the wire run fore and aft. Rather than attaching the wire to the tripods, I bored a ~1" dia hole thru them fore and aft, and an intersecting 1/4" hole thru from side to side. I used a piece of 1/2" copper tubing, with a 1/4" screw to hold the tubing in place across the bore. I ran the wire from a turnbuckle attached to the head stay fitting at the stem, over the tubing, to the opposite end, where I did the same. I cinched the turnbuckle up and, Voila!, the wire is looking good and just misses the big box fan.
Amazingly enough, the wire is close to dead center. Running the wire from the head stay fitting to the back stay fitting seemed a much more secure way than from just tripod to tripod.
The next step in the plan is to put pieces of white adhesive tape down the wire every 2', and use them to measure to points along the boat.
With luck, pictures again next week...
