I've got a Bosch 1611evs router that's ready to lose it's second set of bearings. The place around here that did the work last time is out of business, so I need to either find someplace else close by, or try to do the job myself.
Has anyone here done this, or have a good place in mind for the work?

i have a PC model 100 that is easily 45 yrs old. i got it from my dad and can remember him telling me ," this will be yours long after i'm gone".... well, i'm 52 and he's neen gone since i was 17, so i can say he was right!
i've replaced the bearings 2 times already and it is ready for a new bottom bearing again, but it keeps on running so.....
it's not very hard to do at all, rich. you can get the bearings from bosch through any place that sells bosch tools or go to a good bearing house with the bearing , just be sure to tell them it's for a router. i'm sure you know, the bearings in a router are not just your average ordinary bearing, they are fit with much closer tolerances to handle the rpm.
i don't know about the bosch specificly, but i would imagine they aren't all that much different. there should be some screws that hold the top and bottom case halves together and the bearing should come out with the armature. you'll need a small bearing puller from that point to get the bearings off the armeture. don't try to beat the bearings off or on the armature, you'll ruin them. they have to be pulled and pressed on. if you don't want to try that, any good small machine shop will be able to do it.
