I chatted this morning with Peter Knutson, one of the Grandsons of the man that built my boat. He's going to talk with his relatives and try and find me some documents, plans etc. on the boat. So far, it seems I have the only K-35 Yawl on the West Coast. I'm still sailing her while waiting on some DIY yard space to open up so I can start doing some more serious work on her. My wife and I spent all weekend aboard and were pleasantly surprised that the boat stayed so warm, even with the temps in the mid 20's F, with only a small electric heater. Even with it blowing 30 knots and COLD, it stayed nice an cozy.

I heard from Sparkman & Stephens and it turns out that the K-35 is an adaptation by Knutson, of the S&S Pilot 33 design #539 as suspected. I'm still waiting to here back from the Knutson family on more docs.

Was the Pilot 33 one of Nielsen's designs for S&S?
