I've only bought from Hamilton before, but am not sure that they will have the size and length of smaller copper rivets/nails that I'll need for my Herreshoff Rowboat.

Other suggestions on good prices for online purchase of copper rivets?
Slate and Copper has their countersunk boat nails for $38/lb -- hard to justify when compared to a max of $20/lb from Hamilton for a more standard copper nail.

Faering Design has 'em for $28/lb (I wonder how current that price is??) -

They stock also, not sure about price. I was just there a couple months ago and got the shop tour. I am thinking of getting mine from Faering for my Fearing.

I suspect that all of the US vendors are getting the 'Countersunk Flat Head Copper Boat Nails' from the same source in the UK (probably the link that SSOR provides above), and that their prices will be pretty much the same == we shall see.

Hamilton is the only vendor that seems to sell regular nails made from copper, which worked fine on my dory skiff but the heads may be too 'protruding' for use on the ply planking on the Herreshoff Rowboat.

The Wooden Boat Chandlery in Pt. Townsend also has them for $28/lb. At least they're on your side of the country so you may save a bit on shipping.

Thanks, that last link certainly has the most information on sizes, number of rivets per package (kilos in this case), etc.
Suspect the prices may be out of date, but still a great source!

Having used all manner of copper nails for riveting I must say that I prefer the British straight square shank nails over the US version that taper. The British nails are slightly serrated on the shank for better holding and since they do not thin out at the tip, offer a better amount of material for peening. These nails are available from the Ship's Store at the Wooden Boat foundation in Port Townsend WA.

I can't get to their site from here to check, but Doesn't Jamestown Distributors still carry them??????? (I'm starting to wonder now.)

Jamestown has a great selection, but not great prices. They carry them at several times the price that Hamilton has.
Thanks, everyone!

As Jay mentioned, all nails are not created equal.
Slating nails are often sold as common copper nails - these are not boat nails.
