Awesome, Jamie! You're going to be a racin' fool. You talk about going down to Annapolis or someplace in October? Are you going to winter farther south next year?

Aren't you forgetting the Lake Huron International Schooner Race up in Brights Grove?

Scheduled for some fine summer with a single, winner takes all, race beginning off Wildwood Park with a 15km run up to Kettle Point, then a fine beat off to the Southwest for another 15 km before turning for the final stretch toward the finish line back off Wildwood Park? The S/V LAURA ELLEN is expected to be in fine fresh form and should give a good show of herself with a nice friendly ass wuppin' of the infamous S/V AIRLIE. :D

Peter, not taking sides or nothing but ya know, jest friendly stuff.I'd even volenteer to crew on the home town favorite.............:D

You could also do this race in October, just up the Rappahannock River a bit from the Chesapeake Bay.

Don't know the exact October date for this year. There are at least a few forum members who participate. I would be up for crewing that race. Google Deltaville or Yankee Point Marina for information on local marinas.

Jamie,

What about the ERR, the first weekend in August. Then cruise around till the SRR. The feeder races from Castine to Camden and then to Brooklin are a real hoot too.

See you at some point.

Micky.. maybe a winter location in slightly warmer climates next year. If I do the Ches. Bay Schooner Race.. well, I'm a bit further south. Will see.. Being a loiveaboard now is getting to be more difficult. Supposedly there are several in the Baltimore area.
The Rappahanock races in Oct. a maybe... as is the Ches Schooner race...
I know that area fairly well anyway as my brother keeps his boat in Deltaville.
Lake races.. not this year.
Russ.. that would work.. early August..

Still checking to see when the Schooner races are in NS...

adampet.. You are now officially in.. Pm me your address and phone number. I'll keep you up to date on specific schedules.. parties, gatherings etc...already have the itinerary for the Provincetown week in hand.. Umm, looks like four days of dark and stormies, concerts, bands, and sailing/racing. Gonna be quit a show Provincetown is going to be putting on.

Put me down for crew for the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta! Did you read the article about turning down sponsorship for the Regatta and keeping it run by volunteers? You can get to it from WB's homepage.

Lorelei..

Great on this one.. Wanted to go in it last year but wasn't back in time... I'll either be at the EYC or the River Museum dock...
I'll be in touch before then. I don't think the application forms etc. are ready on line yet.

Jamie;
Good to hear you are winterin' well.I just had a look at the Nova Scotia Schooner Association site and it appears they have Race Week scheduled for Aug.03-09 at the Shelburne Harbour Yacht Club in Shelburne. They should be having a spring meeting soon with more event dates.Keep a weather eye.

Thank you. My time is absorbed by my company... I think I sailed twice last year. I'm very close to getting the company profitable, and its been a very difficult though altogether enjoyable process. Thanks for thinking of me.

So you don't have to leave home until the WBShow, and you can take a leisurely sail to Newport from there.

And big fireworks on July 4th over Newport, too.

Check in with the MOY about a slip unless you have acquired a dinghy.

I think I can afford to look into a real dinghy now...So, the search for one will begin elf.

Don't forget about the Compass Project. They can build you a beauty and you'd be helping out a good cause. :)

It is on my mind... I liked what I saw there...Wish they were closer to here though...I gave them a heads up on my old dink.. the lawley design. Mentioned that Dave had it now in Boothbay. It was a great rowing machine... Now if one could be built there... I'd go for it...
