Gavin is one of us, as well as having a great blog. I'm sure his book will be great, although I could probably disprove his title. (posted from the moaning chair)

I just bought the top one this afternoon while I was waiting for my daughter to get out of play practice. I'll report back soon.

I recently read this one:

Very good, one chapter was by a forumite, Lance Gunderson. :) And another by Paul Gartsides.

Personally, I'd wait until Super Ultrasimple Boatbuilding came out.

The boat running wing and wing on the cover of "Small boats on Green Waters"
is the sharpie named 'Kingfish' brought to St Augustine in 1883 by Commodore Ralph M. Munroe.

just received ultrasimple....

I tend to buy books that say they have plans in them, as this did.

I tend to think that the boats pictured on the cover are the ones that have plans/how too's inside the book.....

I was disappointed to find that the "Houdini" sailboat(top left on pictured cover) was not a plan included in the book, nor an Atkin design or a "how too" regarding that design. In fact, the book I received instead has the Houdini picture on the BACK cover and a multi chine canoe on the front, top left. I am not amused.

Many techniques in this are covered in books I already have, the other designs with included plans/how too's , including a multi chined canoe, a light dory, I am not interested in.

I am returning my copy at loss for shipping. Sorry Gavin.

Got the Brian Anderson _Small Boats on Green Waters_ today and read several chapters == very nice!

Looks like a keeper. Many of us will have read, or own, the books or stories that the excerpts come from, but it is still nice to re-read them in this context -- like a visit from old friends.
