Wow-wee that's one ferociously cool boat. St. Augustine's water front is blessed.
Is there a way we can access the high res version of that last photo?

Dear Margo,
Incredible work and devotion.
I tried to think of something suitable to say about you and SARAH.
What came to mind was something I read what seems to be a long time ago and it just kind of keeps cycling around in my head now and again coming forward. So here it is, it's a quote that I think you'll enjoy.
"..... gather up a few ancient tools and natural materials and build for yourself the best boat in all the world-- a thing of perfect beauty, which will guard and preserve you wherever you want to go on the vast ocean seas. The voyaging may be mostly in the imagination, and this, the best boat in the world, may seem less than that to other people. That really doesn't matter. It will be your own, born of study, toil and sacrifice; and you'll get from it a continuing emotional experience almost unique in this modern world."
Bud McIntosh
I get to see alot of remarkable boats, interesting people and hear incredible stories in my work. The boats are great and they themselves frequently tell a story. But it's frequently the people behind the beautiful boats that are the remarkable story.
So, Margo, please believe me when I say that you are probably one of the most remarkable women I've had the pleasure to almost meet.
Good luck and congrats,
Rodger G. Morris
Congrats, Margo. Sarah looks wonderful, and I'm sure Dave is smiling.

What a thrill! The day each spring when the boat is launched and the mast craned in is such a harbinger: All is right and united with the world.

It's even worse when you are the one using the mast hoist to "drop" the masts into position and figure out all the rigging. It really is upsetting to get the mast up and then realize that one part of the rigging is tangled. twisted or routed wrong (and there are three boat waiting in line to use the hoist).

LOL. True enough. It's always a test for me (I rerun my own rigging each year before the crane guy lifts the mast) and reminds me of:
-How long it's been since I was on the water,
-Why didn't I mark each shroud and halyard when I took the mast down in the fall!?
-That I'm mildly dyslexic.
Enough hijacking...

That's so good to see... It also makes the boat feel different, doesn't it?

Ahhhh at last! So you got the sticks up boom's on and she's much closer to a rendezvous.
I have a few thoughts at this juncture, not to be a pest, just to share.
Tuning the rig is a delicate matter I think last year was the first time I really got it right. How is she setting on her lines,wl.? A little high in the bow. Well you don't have that big fisherman anchor stowed. Aluminum mast are much lighter than the woodies. Are the masts straight. Don't over tighten anything. The boat will take up in a week or so, ... then go sailing. I might have to be crew, as I am Ga. boy again this summer.
Congrats on this milestone, rest a bit... Oars up.

Margo, I hope Wooden Boat Magazine does a feature on you, Sarah and what it has taken to get to this point. They and the rest of the non-forum WBM readers would be missing out.
I hope to visit Sarah in person some day.
Thaks for taking the time to post when you are shell shocked from a day of launching and stepping.
And someday soon, SAILING. You will like that! if you can stand it. Cheers.
