Q - "How many Zen masters does it take to build a wooden boat?"
A - "The cypress tree in the courtyard"

Q - "What is the sound of one hand sanding?"

“ Clearing the mind and sliding in
to that created space,
a web of waters streaming over rocks,
seeing this land from a boat or a lake,
or a broad slow river,
coasting by.”

I used to spend long hours making similar little boats when I was a kid. Then I would carefully place selected rocks all over them representing individual people and set them adrift. Next, of course, I would bomb them until nobody was left.

Is that you Kaa? Are you Lenny Kaa? Either way bits of my childhood have come busting through the fog of 35 years of memory. It reinforces my childhood dream of building a boat.

Cheers mate! Good post!!
