While in the process of tracking down the builder of this boat in Germany, I thought I should ask the forum...

- 2 rowing stations

What do you think she is or what has she been based on?

My current thinking is that she looks a lot like a 'beamier' version of a sailing whitehall.

An example of a 'modern' sailing whitehall: http://www.whitehallrow.com/rowboats/wh_17_sail.php

This one is 16'11'' (5.15m) long and has a beam of 52'' (1.3m), whereas the boat I have has a beam of 1.75m.

I managed to track down the yard that built this boat. Management has changed since she was built in the '80s and so they were only able to send me a copy of an old brochure:

The search for more information continues...

Some questions remain:

Is this a recent design?
Based on older working boats?
Other boats like her in and around Germany?

Perhaps some of the German or Nordic country forum members have some more information or ideas on where to look.

My internet search for 'segelkutter' has given me the following:

She could possibly be related to the ZK10 class (http://www.kutterservice.de/index.htm) or here (http://www.kutterservice.de/Kutterservice/historisches.htm), or newer glass fiber version here (http://www.wiekerboote.de/pdf/kutter_zk10w.pdf) - which is a larger boat but has many similarities
