I'm looking for a very wear resistant paint to put on a steel diamond plate step. Exterior use, foot traffic only. I want gloss black and would prefer something I can get in a home improvement or good hardware store.
I'll need less than 1 quart.
I can buy epoxy in 12 oz. rattle cans, is that the best I'm likely to find?
Whatever paint you choose, try spraying with Nyalic (www.nyalic.com or search WBF) afterwards. It's supposed to be bee's knees for abrasion resistance.

If you can find a McCormacks paint store. They sell an Interlock direct to metal urethane paint that in our local store is used for the warehouse floor paint. I think the manager told me it is now in its third year

Stove paint would work for adhesion and abrasion resistence and you can get it most places. Gloss might not be available.
