I have come across an older morse single lever dual function control that I would like to use since it looks like it belongs on a sailboat and not on a jetski.
It seems that there is no stop in the handle movement that would correspond to "in gear" but with no throttle. In fact the throttle cable is activated, aling with the gear shift, as soon as the handle is moved.
This doesn't seem right since the engine will apparently start to accelerate before the transmission is engaged. Is this a characteristic of older controls? All the parts seem to be there and in working order. I have no model number and have been unable to find a manual. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I would send pictures but alas I have no camera.
Thanks
Mike
