Got it wrong! scrap of dirt fooled me!
Picked up two concave base Aaron Hildick wooden planes at a market this weekend. 6.5" and 4.5". Owners stamp F. Bennion. Oak body I think and in VG condition and probably coopers planes. Also known as 'compas planes' I think. Anyone know of the manufacturer?

I have a few wooden planes with Hildick irons but am not aware of Hildick making planes.

Um, I presumed the Iron and plane have the same manufacturer, wrong I guess. Let me clean it up a bit, I hate to loose the patina.
How about P**K & RY*N, Lond*n? That ring a bell?

Buck and Ryan is an old established tool seller in London.I would expect the plane bodies were beech and the flecks are not unlike those in oak.

Thank You John, though I have a collection of wooden planes that I use, I'd not come across a Buck & Ryan before.

Hey Jeff, you can have a squizz in my chest of wooden planes next time you get across, you might find something useful....
