Any of us live in the coastal NC area? Looking to move there.

I've lived in Wilmington, NC, for 28 years. Enjoyed sailing, motorboating, quahogging when I was physically able.

Glad to try to answer any questions. <davecarnell@ec.rr.com>

I didn't consider how the Wilmington area is growing. That's one of the reasons I'm looking at leaving here--getting too dang crowded! Populated is one thing, but this is getting worser by the week.
I think I'm inclined to the Lejuene - Morehead City area. Family's there, but not long enough to help me network.
I'll touch base--thanks!

I live in Sea Level and have boat ramp behind house and 3 more within 8 miles. It's nice to go to Pamlico Sound,Cape LookOut and Core Banks, all within 45 minutes.Just find some HIGH land.Few mosquitoes.

I live in Hampstead about 22 miles north of Wilmington. Lots of Sea Kayaking, small boat sailing, inshore and ocean fishing, Great beaches, sounds, and black water rivers to explore. I keep a 36 Grand Banks woodie in Sneeds Ferry NC next to Camp Lejune and the New Rever this gives me another ares to play. Went sailing on Lake Waccama about 1 hour inland from Wilmington. Nice yacht club and public ramps. Only saw 1 Aligator.

Took a boat down the ICW many years ago. Beautiful. Spent a couple months in NC. Met Bill Lowe in fact. Nice folks...they do know how to party down there. Be careful.

NE North Carolina is still in a time warp, Elizabeth City is VERY boater friendly. The Rose Buddies greet boaters with a wine and cheese. There are still some Real Estate Bargains to be had. Check your PMs

E-City eh? I get job opening e-mails from the Coast Guard Aircraft Repair Facility there weekly. Can't pull the trigger on that move personally.

This is a growing area, and they are developing an aviation industrial park, right next to the Coast Guard Base. A nice place to raise a family!

I was working out of New Bern for 3 weeks. I would say that Morehead City/Beaufort near Oyster Mike was the most populated area. Anything along 70 didn't appear to be bad. I was actually in Aurora which isn't the middle of no where, just the dropping off point...:D

I grew up part time on Cedar Island. It has great deep and shallow water boating areas on Cedar Island Bay,Neuse River and Pamlico Sound. There are 2 State maintained ramps and some private ramps also. There is some very high land down Lola.Nice location for boating, fishing, hunting and getting away from the rat race. The only problem is for the ladies as in shopping is about 45 miles away.
