bottom repair

i have a 1956 penn yan runabout and a 1954 penn yan captivator both need to have the bottom fixed. The captivator needs a whole new bottom and i cant decide how do fix the bottom i need to get new wood and the runabout needs to be re-faceted

A marine survey by an experienced wooden-boat outfit might be the way to start, usually well worth the money. We'll also need info on the boat -- types of wood used, condition of same, etc.
