We launched a pinnace yesterday for the same man Lynx was built for. It is truly an interesting boat. There are a few pictures here.

Aren't they pretty much one and the same, Mike? Dandy boat anyway (no, not a Dandy, just dandy).

Here's another nice picture that shows just how much is going on here!
Would you happen to know the name of the CC 38 foot commuter in the background?

yep
the ones in the PNW tend to be a bit shorter, and dipping lug rigged rather than sprit, but the hulls look very much alike

I believe she's one of about eight survivors. Last one sold for $300K out of our region!

PENATES, a 43-foot, commuter-style power boat, was completely restored by Rockport Marine in 2003. The restoration included lengthening the boat by three feet, installing a new bottom, putting in a new cockpit, completely refinishing the bright mahogany hull and overhauling her two 425 horsepower Crusader engines. PENATES is cold-molded with batten seam construction. She was conceived by Michael Turner as an adaptation of a Hacker Craft design and built in 1991.

OK! I stand corrected. At a distance, I thought she was a 38' Chris.
Water on the brain!
You did an amazing job on the pinnace.

Just saw Imi Loa on the Launchings page in the new WB mag. And I want one. A big, plunging daysailer with room for everybody. Too bad I don't have room to build one or money to buy one.

She is really fast too! I was taking pictures in the chase boat at her launch and we had trouble keeping up with her at times.

Looks like Mr. Woodson will be very happy with this one. A proper launch for "Lynx"! And well done too! I was never quite comfortable when viewing her with the Avon alongside!
