Got rained out of a job today so I stopped at Davis Museum at Wellesey (MA) College to see "Grand Scale: Monumental Prints in the Age of Dürer and Titian." Lo and behold a few of the prints were scenes of Venice that had some fascinating depictions of boats and boat building.

It's not a boat art show by any stretch but it's heck of an exhibit, the boats were icing. The gist of the show is multi-panel woodcuts and engravings that were the precursor to wallpaper, 15th-early17th C; all are big and fairly detailed, making the boaty stuff pretty cool.

The show ends Sunday (8 June). This is their Alumnae Weekend, so campus might be crowded, but if you've got the right look you might be able to sponge some cocktails.:)
