Paul,

I think I remember reading a thread on this subject somewhere on this forum maybe a year ago... Have you tried searching the different sections yet?

Paul, do you have a way of reading CAD files? If so let me know what format and I'll send you drawings of the blocks I made. I'll also see about getting the series of pictures I took of the process into ImageStation. Those that you might find referenced in earlier threads went away with PhotoPoint.

If you are thinking of rope stropped blocks find Hervey Garret Smith's "The Marlinspike Sailor".

Also check the WB index at the home page . Brian Toss did an article on the subject I know .

There's a very good article at --

although regretteably most of the photos appear to be missing.

I made some rope-stropped ones from an old willow rolling pin, one piecers. Apart from the rope work a fairly quick process although willow would only be suitable for small boats. I have some antique ones which are Oak and I think Elm with bronze sheaves.

Only two of the pictures show up on my machine in this web page: http://www.duckworksmagazine.com/articles/woodenblocks/woodenBlocks.htm . I've tried Opera, Internet Explorer 6 and Netscape.

Can anyone report seeing them all?

Norm,
I can't see them either. Since they were there before, what's probably happened is that someone moved the pictures out of the folder the html code is looking at. So the code is looking for something that doesn't exist where it's supposed to.

I hate it when software does what you tell it to instead of what you want it to smile.gif

Duckworks appears to be 'maintenance free' for a few weeks while Chuck (the editor) is off sailing. Do I sound jealous? smile.gif
In the meantime if you need a particular picture or three I can email them to you...
