Morning Dale,

I was just in St. Michaels at the end of last month. The museum was a nice visit. I saw the upcoming show advertised. Looks like it should be fun and interesting.

I'm back in Oriental, NC now but had a great time dodging fronts and squalls as we worked up the bay for the last month.

We anchored in the river just outside #3.

Thanks for the invite.

John, sorry we missed you. Did you by any chance stop by Rock Hall, our home? If your ever in the area again let us know we can usually find a place for an old wooden boat to tie up for free in Rock Hall Harbor.

When in St. Michaels we usually anchor near where you did. We try to avoid staying at a dock, not only because I'm cheap, but because I'm convinced that most damage happens to boats at docks, not at anchor. To many people in a touristy place like St. Michaels trying to pull into docks without any clue what their doing. Thid weekend, however, as we are pert of the show, we are staying in a slip.

Dale,

We didn't stop into Rock Hall this trip. Thanks for the generous off of future assistance. I had the pleasure of exploring the bay with an old friend and wooden boatbuilder out of Sarasota, FL, George Luzier. We took advantage of many of the maritime museums along the way including those at Reedville, Calvert in Solomans, and Newport News as well as St. Michaels.

We also had the pleasure along the way to meet and spend some time with a few wooden boatbuilders along the way. It was a nice trip in between the weather.

Whampoa got a lot of notice along the way and that was fun as well. At times it was almost like being a tour guide for an old wooden boat but I don't mind.

Thanks for the post.

Best Regards, John

I'm going and will be anchored out Saturday in a Marshall 22 catboat. Hopefully, tied off the stern will be just finished Lumber Yard Skiff (LYS) flying the WoodenBoat burgee.

I am planning on attending on Friday since I have another commitment on Saturday. Funny how you can go for weeks without an event, then wind up with two on the same day.
