Unfortunately, probably not her finest hour. This is right between Ray's and Anthony's restaurants and during the lunch hour. The windows from both restaurants look directly out to this spot.

Fortunately, it is soft mud on this side, maybe a few small rocks and oysters. I hope she didn't suffer any damage. The other side of the channel has many large rocks.

And I hasten to add, I'm not laughing. There are only two types of boaters; those that HAVE been aground, and those that haven't YET. Any of us that think we are smarter than this might be in for a rude awakening.

I'm getting the red x Ron.

I had a bad time right there once too. Almost piled up on the rocks at the end of the jetty when the tide was running out fast right as the fuel filter sucked a bunch a crud.

At night, the channel going into the locks can be tricky. At least, that's my experience.

That's a nice sailboat ... any more photos? I'm pretty sure I've seen it before down at CWB.

Its a very nice boat and looks to be spiffed up nicely for the season. It looks familiar but I couldn't see the name and this is the only pic I have. I'm assuming he might show up here on the forum and want my head for posting this pic. I'm sure he has better ones he would rather the world see.

The channel here is dredged but only in the "channel". The close banks make it appear that the channel is wider. Its marked of course, but when you are between the buoys fore and aft of you, it is easy to wander off if not watching the range markers.

Dan: I had left out the www in the url. Try it again.

The angle's a little - um - unusual, but she looks like Francis Herreshoff's "Araminta."

I know that boat, very well. So should a few Forumites from Maine. Yes, it is an Araminta. I saw the boat eastbound in the Ship Canal after this little incident. I'll have to ask the owner about this.

Could that be one of the Aramintas built by Legendary Yachts??
