I just got finished with John Biggins' first book in the Otto Prohaska series and I really enjoyed it. Took me a little while to get into it but I think that that was my fault more than it was Biggins'. Definitely a different approach to naval fiction (the Uboat service of the Austro-Hungarian Navy of the First World War). Interesting. I learned some things and was entertained at the same time. I would recommend it.

I will begin another tomorrow and just ordered a third. There are four Otto Prohaska novels in total (so far).

Anyone else read any good naval or nautical fiction lately?

Mickey, I recently read two trilogies by Iain Lawrence, The High Seas Trilogy and The Curse of the Jolly Stone Trilogy. Though they were written for teens I found them enjoyable.
