Cape Breton Builder

Hello
Well after 2 years and a move across Canada ChipMonk has hit the water. She was first started in the Queen Charlotte Islands, about 50 off the North coast of BC, and finished in Cape Breton Island off the East coast.
She is planked in Red Ceder with Yellow Ceder ribs.
Some finish work needs to be done, but we set a date and launched, rain and all.
I don't know how to post pics, so if anyone can help that would be great. Here is a link to ImageStation page with photos.

Great job, and I love the colors. Will you be setting her up for sail, as well?

Thanks for all the messages.
The day was not the best for anything but ducks. The colours did work out well, seems to work with the varnished yellow ceder.
We had no sail so held off making the mast, but she is ready once we find a sail. Centerboard sits in basement waiting.
She is a Catspaw by Joel White.
Again many thanks, this is my second boat. The third is being narrowed down in my head. But I think I need to sell off one before that happens or at least get the boatshed built.
Cheers

Well that is a shame. To see B.C. loose not only a good boatbuilder but also a Catspaw. But from what I hear you are now in boatbuilders paradise. Your boat looks fabulous. What a difference it makes when you paint a boat. I built a Catspaw several years ago and thought the cedar looks so nice so I stayed away from paint. Worked out O.K. My next boat I painted and looks fine too. So good for you. My wife and I have Nova Scotia still on our program so you might see us coming next year. The weather is not a factor here, especioally this summer. It is either cloud or cloud and rain. The sun we have not seen for weeks, months? Happy rowing. Out on the water you will be away from the bugs.
