Now that my Acorn 15 is finished I'm thinking I need a cover. Any recommendations as to the best?
Thanks in advance.

You can get ideas for making one yourself from www.SailRite.com. They have PDF files you can down load and of course they also sell supplies that can be used for covers. I've made two covers that work fine, though you'll need access to a sewing machine. The type of material and design will depend on the intended use for the cover.

Thanks Steve,

That looks like the way to go. Now I have to sweet talk SWMBO.

SWMBO? No way. You're a seaman, right. YOU sew it. I've done three sails and two covers. Just be patient. Nice thing to do inside when the weather is cold.

Steve, you make me feel ashamed. Here's the plan - I buy the fabric, measure, cut and start to sew. SWMBO sees me, assumes I'll screw things up and takes over. In my dreams!!!

Anyway, a good link and I've already downloaded the instructions.

Thanks again.

These guys make over 170 different sailboat covers... check out what they have.... the cost may be less than you think...

I have emailed them twice for information about a cover for my Bobcat and got nada. If you have recognized one design, it seems to be the place to go.

OK, I see your plan. Stick your finger a few times with a pin or needle (but not the one fastened into the sewing machine) and groan. Perhaps SWMBO will come running to rescue you. Just for good measure, name the boat after her. And perhaps let HER pick the color of the cover. The color, we all know, is after all the most important part of this, right?

I cut myself so often that a small jab with a needle won't do it! BTW, look very carefully at the pic in the link and you can see a bronze name plate on the transom with my wife's name.
