I need to share this with my fellow forumites. This is a big deal for me since it helps reinforce the value of my magazine, and the work I've put into it. I published this article today:

I am very pleased to announce to our readers that Conservation International [CI] has welcomed Canoe Sailing Magazine to reprint the renown environmental organization's articles and news stories. Since our first issue, I have wanted to publish articles about environmental issues that impact those of us who love the waters in which we sail. While not all the pieces will be about our local waters, they inevitably will be since we are truly a global magazine and crew, and we each share a portion of a joint home water that flows around the planet. While many of the articles we'll select will be from a few years ago, many will be more recent, but they are all still current, insightful and inciteful. ...etc.....

Stoked? Yeah--that be me!

Thank you--it's like a birthday party....

I've already had one reader accuse me of being political, which I don't understand. Seems some folks immediately connect politics with environment; too weird.

Paddlers are natural conservationists with an intimate relationship to our waters.

Ian--that's exactly why I thought it would be appropriate for CSM. My critic couldn't understand why it couldn't just be a 'fun' magazine without his running the risk of maybe learning something [my perception]. I expect most paddlers and sailors share my concern and love for the environment, without finger-pointing, politics, etc., which I try to avoid.
