Can't let the rest of the Forum think we are slackers out here!

Who's up for a boozeup? When and where? Nautical or YC bar is fine but not required.:D

I like the Kensington Circus, and we can get a designated driver to shuttle us down the hill to El Cerrito BART. Great English-style pub food and ales.

Sounds fun. I'll give a tentative yes, but can't fully commit yet. Work schedule has been unsteady and if I can work I will, but I'd love to chat with some experienced builders and sailors.

You might twist my arm a bit and convince me that a beer or two might be a good idea. Pencil me in.

BUMP.

So is the East Bay OK? Any other suggestions for a location? Possible date?

I'll have a look at my calendar later and get back to you with a date. As for location, you call it.

I'm in. Kensington Circus is a cool place. Haven't been there in a little while. It will be good to go back.
Another idea is Salute. So-so food but they serve beer and liquor AND it is on the water... Just an idea.

Wish somebody would open a good beer/pub food place on the vacant lot next to the launch ramp over there. I'd do it if I had a few million in reserves.

Cool!

So, traditional to hold such sessions on Friday nights, I believe. We've got the 7th, 14th, and 21st as mid-month Fridays. I have a costume ball on the 15th, but don't intend to drink to excess -- not like I did the last time I graced Mike's place with my little bicycle...

The 14th sounds good to me. I'll be busy the 7th, got a few projects I need to wrap up in the next week. I need an address for wherever we end up.

How does the 14th at the Kensington Circus sound to the rest of you scurvy dogs? 7-10pm-ish?

I'll reserve a table for 5-6 and be there by 6:30.

Who else besides Robert, Maineman and Banjoman will make it? I'll invite a few other TSCA and sailor types, and post here when I get takers.

I don't remember a thing.:p

See you on the 14th!

If any BART riders need a lift, Del Norte BART is on the way.

Dumb question of the day - what does EBS mean?

...so obvious when you see it...

Well, yeah, I can do that... Kensington Circus on the 14th? I'll find it.

7ish? Sounds like a plan.

Thanks.

What say we spice it up a bit, and bring some of that excess stuff we all have rattling around in the garage...er...boatshop? We will need to leave it out in the cars, but could do a sorta impromptu swap meet with each other outside.

I've got some silicon bronze bits and bobs too large for my boats, some galvanized hardware likewise, a book or two, and perhaps a sail.

Anyone else interested? If it is bucketing down outside (like it is now on and off) it won't work well, but otherwise might be fun.

Dr. Hook is scraping some barnacles out of my shoulder this week, but I'll still try and make it. I think I can manage with one arm.

Better that than continuing to keelhaul your shoulder joint, eh?

No worries as you don't have to drive -- we can pick up/drop off folks at the El Cerrito Plaza BART station -- just down the hill and a bit north of the pub.

A grand idea, Thorne. I'm in. Kensington Circus sounds like fun, and I'll bring along a box or two of stuff.

Moving this weekend... just which box did I pack that stuff in? I ought to be able to find something to bring along... :)

So Bob and Steve -- you "Valley Boys" should consider carpooling -- leaves more $$ for Boddingtons and Burgers...

Sounds like a plan! I don't think I have anything in the garage, as I haven't built anything yet and don't have any leftovers. But maybe I'll just bring my wallet and find something I can't live without!

Sounds great Thorne, The daughter has me booked for a horse show in Sacramento that weekend. My beer money will be spent on diesel. John

We'll hoist a pint of Berkeley's BioFuel Oasis B99 for ya...

Make sure your boys don't outgrow those uniforms before June -- the Royal Navy needs 'em.

I'd like to join you. I've got a bucket of bronze too- cleats and winch handles ect.- all too big for me.

Come on down! Looks like we are up to 8 EBS'ers or more.

The lads and I will be there. Just got to build a swivel gun mount for the barrel we have.http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd168/jomac721/Boats/P4050293.jpg

Yarr!

To explain to all the puzzled viewers, by "the boys will be there" he means the Vallejo Pirate Festival in June (not the EBS), where I and friends portray the Bad Guys, aka The Royal Navy. Worst part is deciding which Jack Sparrow clone to hang first...

I've perfected my StormTrooper Knock(tm), so I'll stop by and give you a sample of it next Friday night, eh?

I'll be hiding in the attic...
:D

Sweet...I have a DD.

That means I can blow past annoying and get straight into obnoxious mode at the pub.:p

I moved last weekend. So now everything I own (about 99.9% of it anyway) is in storage. My well-intended plan to keep a few things easily accessable near the front of the storage unit fell by the wayside when my help became too enthused about finishing.

I am now in temporary housing with about 4 days worth of clothes and the plans for a Goat Island Skiff.

I plan to head down to the Bay Area next weekend, but I'll come empty-handed. :)

To anyone attending the EBS tomorrow- especially Banjoman: I'm having my H28 hauled at Svensen's in Alameda on the same day for 10 days of sister repairs and prop shaft rework. If you're in the area for beer then why not come by early and see her out of water?
