would it be possible to have the picture link dialog box remember what you put in previously when linking multiple pictures...for example: My normal link runs like this:

nttp://angelfire.com/ego/lewisboatworks/Stuff/something/blahblahblah.jpt

which is a royal pain to type over and over when posting multiple pictures from the same site. If there were a drop down with the last one which you can click on then modify with a different file name it would make you a truly great forum god.

thanks
Steve Lewis

PS: if I got the moderator's name wrong...sorry I might be thinking of the person running one of the other boards I lurk on.

Whoops...now I see the sticky above and apologize to SCOT for being a ditz and being up all night at work. So...Scot...do you think something might be possible for the above situation??

Why don't you just copy and paste the image URL, then change the final bit for each photo =-= that's what I do.

because it is on my webpage server and it is listed more like an open explorer page ie folders and such than as a web page. It would have to be put into a webpage (create the url) then the page viewed in order to copy the url which I had to make in order to view the page...if you follow me.

Are you linking photos directly from an ftp client of some sort? I sometimes build websites and work a lot with ftp, but am not following you.

Even in a ftp client, all you have to do is hightlight and copy the first image name, lets say that it is the example above, "something/blahblahblah.jpt"

You then open a web browser and ONCE type in the first bit, "nttp://angelfire.com/ego/lewisboatworks/Stuff/". You then paste the image / file name on the end of the URL, giving you the full image URL for the first image, "nttp://angelfire.com/ego/lewisboatworks/Stuff/something/blahblahblah.jpt"

Highlight and copy that URL, then paste that into the "add image" field in the WB Forum interface (when you click the postcard icon).

If you've named your images in order, or are using the camera's file names in numerical order, you then just click the postcard icon again, paste the same image URL into the field, then manually change the file name to the next in series.

Here's my first image, http://www.luckhardt.com/albion1.jpg
http://www.luckhardt.com/albion1.jpg

Here's my second image, http://www.luckhardt.com/albion2.jpg
http://www.luckhardt.com/albion2.jpg

etc, etc, etc.

Seems easy enough, not sure why your process would make it not work the same way.

I understand that if the URL would "stick" in the "Please enter the URL of your image" field, it would save us all one paste command. But as far as I know this V-Bulletin web forum software is a commercial version, and they'd have to pay programmers to alter it.

I use angelfire as my server...

http://angelfire.com/ego/lewisboatworks/Stuff/untitled.JPG

Like I said...explorer like. There is no spot for me to copy a URL for a specific picture. I have to type in the whole thing. The webside above isn't the correct url, nor is the ego/lewisboatworks the complete url. the complete one is what I have above in the first post along with the correct picture name.
