No question she's a beauty. One of my favorite Crockers.
Donald Starr's last boat is a yawl rigged friendship. He called her Morning Watch. I have her now. That's her, top left.

The Commodore was my first wooden boat. I lived in Atlanta and missed the Maine Coast. I found her complete down to her original cigarette lighter (no engines though). I over did a ground up total disassembly and rebuild with all the original wood etc. Found engines that she would have had in the day and rebuilt them too.

Traded her EVEN for Milky Way!

I'll post some pics of the commodore during rebuild. All her finish was sprayed. Canvas top over the hard top. She'll do a good 35 mph. Obvously, I don't own her any more.

She was built in New Bern, NC.

Thanks, Greg. I love the hard top on the Commodore.

Milky Way moored near here for a summer a few years ago. She graced the mooring filed with her lines, but I never saw her sailing.

We found out the other night at Grittys that the Peabody-Essex museum has a model of Milky Way in their Model Collection. Maybe sometime this winter in the depths of February we could have a WBF EBS at the Peabody-Essex in Salem. :)

if we could arrange to see some of Aage Nielson's plans there I'd make the trip!

I called and if that is the museum I am thinking of they are closed for the winter but perhaps they would open for us...

Maybe you called the Essex Shipbuilding Museum. The Peabody Essex Museum doesn't close in the Winter.
